While Allard Knook is a specialist in every facet of administrative law, he particularly focuses on European administrative law. He acts as counsel to both governments and companies on state aid issues, such as the structuring of projects or governmental regulations so that they comply with the requirements imposed by state aid laws. He also specialises in environmental law, spatial planning and general administrative law.
Allard has been with CMS Derks Star Busmann since 2009. Prior to joining our firm, he spent six years working at Utrecht University, where he obtained his doctorate in an area of European law in 2009.
Allard routinely publishes articles on European and administrative law topics. He is founder of the website ECJBlog.com on European legal developments. He is also a frequent keynote speaker at lectures, seminars and in-house courses.
