Public interest and involvement in water management in the Netherlands has increased significantly in the last few years. Water plays a major role in many areas: spatial planning, the environment, infrastructure, recreation, the countryside and landscape, but also public health and national safety.

CMS Derks Star Busmann advises water boards, drinking-water companies and water treatment companies as well as other government bodies and businesses on all aspects of water management. For example, we assist in questions and proceedings on dike strengthening and reconstruction, land acquisition and management, the designation of water storage areas, groundwater and flood damage, drinking water supplies and groundwater extraction.
